Danny Sepkowski was born in Tacoma, Washington in 1986. His father got stationed in Hawaii shortly after which changed the lives of the Sepkowski family forever. As a child, Danny loved music and art. He decided to learn how to play the drums as a young kid and did not stop ever since. In high school, Danny's drumming progressed as well as his love for the ocean. Danny's father Martin Sepkowski and mother Young Sepkowski saw this passion and decided that retiring in Hawaii would benefit him.
When Danny was in high school, he discovered an underwater disposable camera at a store. He decided to take that camera into the shorebreak and found out that he could actually capture some amazing moments with a cheap camera. This sparked into a huge obsession for Danny. He decided to join yearbook in high school and ended up being in charge of the biggest section of the book which was the music department section. Danny started college at The University of Hawaii at Manoa in 2004. At this time Danny started to take bodyboarding more seriously and testing his abilities in big surf. His friend Jarret Ahn was always taking pictures of him in the surf. Danny decided to learn how to take photos through Jarret and next thing you know it wedding photography came into Danny's life. Danny was an apprentice for Keoni Kitagawa of Kpix Hawaii for two years. This experience has helped Danny with lighting and composition.
